Michael Shank

Team Owner, Meyer Shank Racing
Michael Shank is the team owner of Meyer Shank Racing, which competes in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship with 2 Acura NSX GT3s and in the NTT IndyCar Series in the No. 60 AutoNation/SiriusXM Honda. Shank first started racing professionally in 1989, and quickly made a name for himself, earning notice as the SCCA-Ohio Valley Region Novice Driver of the Year. As he gained winning experience in the car, he put that knowledge to work as his team expanded to run other drivers and Shank eventually retired as a driver to focus on running and growing his team. In addition to the program that Shank manages for Acura Motorsports in IMSA WeatherTech competition, 2017 saw the team achieve a new goal with a debut entry in the Indianapolis 500. Fielding the Michael Shank Racing with Andretti Autosport Honda/Dallara with rookie driver Jack Harvey, the team impressed by overcoming several setbacks. Shank is focused on taking his team to the next level, with a full-time stable of two cars, and with a talented stable of drivers piloting cars prepared by a loyal and professional crew, he is likely to continue to grow the legacy of the team.

Tim May

Auto Racing Reporter
The first auto racing track Tim May first saw was Indianapolis Motor Speedway – he was 9 years old and on a vacation trip with his family from Alabama. He covered a lot of sports in 42 years with the Columbus Dispatch, but what he considered to be his second major beat after Ohio State football was auto racing, primarily IndyCar, which was robust in the 1980s and ‘90s when Bobby Rahal and Truesports rose to fame, and Tasman came along. He’s proud of having covered every Indianapolis 500 since Danny Sullivan’s spin and win in 1985, and calls witnessing Rahal’s dramatic win in ’86 for dying team owner Jim Trueman one of his top four career moments. May also kept up with the seasonal goings on at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, which is where he first met up-and-coming driver/team owner Mike Shank. Now here they sit side by side talking all things auto racing, especially about Shank’s burgeoning Pataskala, Ohio-based team.
